Ram girls still winless in hoops

The Greene County girls basketball team continues their search for the first win of the season after suffering three losses last week. 

On Jan. 9, the team hosted Grand View Christian, falling 66-30. Grand View Christian rolled to a 23-7 first quarter lead and led 28-15 at halftime. They continued their dominance over the Rams in the second half, picking up the 66-30 victory. 

Emma Shipley led the team in points, scoring nine, with Emma Hoyle scoring six and Alexa Peters putting five on the board. Kamryn Sanders had 10 rebounds, Hoyle had five with one steal, and Peters grabbed four rebounds.

The Rams committed 31 turnovers.

The Rams hosted Perry on Tuesday and lost 52-13. Hoyle and Peters each scored four points, Sanders scored two. Hoyle and Sanders each grabbed six rebounds, Shipley had five. As a team, the Rams had 34 rebounds, one assist, eight steals, one block and 26 turnovers. 

Friday was a road game for Greene County, traveling to Roland-Story, falling 60-25. Hoyle was responsible for eight points, with Ashlynn Hinners scoring four and Peters putting three on the board. Hoyle had five rebounds and two steals and Sanders had three rebounds. As a team, the girls had 16 rebounds, six assists, nine steals and 33 turnovers.
